Zac Efron

Acting

One of the best actors, Zac Efron
Here is Zac Efron, the cutie, looking like he's a little tired after a long day of rehearsing!

Zac started his acting and singing career at the age of 11, when he took a role in the local theatre production of “Gypsy”.  The play ran for 90 productions.  After that, Zac continued to get roles in local musicals.  He was in productions of “Mame”, “Peter Pan”, “Little Shop of Horrors” and “The Music Man”.  Although Zac likes to sing and dance, acting is what he loves best.  In 2004, Zac got the lead in a TV movie, ”Miracle Run” in which he played an autistic boy.  After that, he landed a guest appearance on the hit WB TV show Summerland.  That guest spot turned into a full time role on the series.  While on the show Summerland, Zac tried out for the role of Troy in the Disney Channel movie “High School Musical” and got the part.  That is the part that changed his life.  Zac became an overnight teen idol after the premiere of “High School Musical” on the Disney Channel.  It was a dream of Zac’s to be able to act, sing, dance and play basketball all in the same project.

Zac wants to continue working on his acting skills.  He just graduated from high school this June and has applied to several colleges.  He wants to study film.  He would like to go to either California universities UCLA (University of California, Los Angeles) or USC (University of Southern California).  If he is accepted, he wants to attend USC, because they have an excellent film program.  Zac is a talented singer as well, but wants most to pursue his acting career.

Zac already has signed on as Troy Bolton in “High School Musical 2” which will begin production later this year.  The rehearsal schedule for the “High School Musical” is a demanding one. Zac must rehearse singing, dancing, acting and playing basketball.  Zac admits he was never popular in high school in real life, so he really enjoys playing Troy, the most popular boy in school.  “High School Musical 2” is scheduled to be released in the summer of 2007.
