I love this photo of Zac Efron

Zac Efron started his career singing at the age of 11, taking parts in local musical productions.  He soon graduated to TV and had parts in many TV shows, including a regular part as Cameron Bale in the popular WB show “Summerland”.

Zac has also been in a number of movies.  His first movie role was a small part in the movie “Melinda’s World”, in 2003.  Next, he played the brother in the made for TV comedy movie “The Big Wide World of Carl Laemke”, in 2003.   In 2004 Zac took on the part of an autistic boy in the Lifetime original TV movie drama called “Miracle Run”.  Zac played the part of Steve Morgan, one of two autistic twins who attained his goals by winning a cross-country competition with the support of his mom.  Zac was nominated for an award for his part, the “Young Artist Award for Best Performance in a TV Movie, Mini-series or Special -Supporting Young Actor”.  Although he did not win, his stellar performance earned him notice.

Zac earned the starring male role in the Disney TV movie, “High School Musical”, which premiered in 2006.  In his role as Troy Bolton, the multi-talented Zac sings, dances and acts. “High School Musical” became an instant smash hit among teens.  The popularity of the movie has prompted a DVD version of the movie complete with extras such as how to do some of the dances in the movie.  The movie also has produced the popular movie soundtrack, featuring all the songs from the movie.  This is Zac’s first CD.

Zac has just finished working on a new movie entitled “The Derby Stallion”.  In it, Zac plays an outcast teenager who becomes a jockey after meeting a former racehorse.  Zac says he now likes to ride horses because of the role.  The release date for “The Derby Stallion” has not been announced.

Production will start soon for the Disney production “High School Musical 2” in which Zac will again star as the talented Troy Bolton.  Release of “High School Musical 2” is set for 2007.
